The powerful Speech by Dr. Pachauri PhD on Climate Change
“A small body of determined spirits fired by an unquenchable faith in their mission can alter the course of history.”- Mahatma Gandhi
It was unbelievable pleasure to meet Dr. Pachauri, the former chairman of IPCC that won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007, and to have dinner with him.
He is a vegetarian for 20 years.
I will join the POP Movement that has the direct link to the education for disaster risk reduction and to the philosophy of The Imperative of Responsibility by Hans Jonas.
20 members including 12 students of University of Hawaii at Manoa(UHM) came to our seminar in MUE.
Aaron-sensei in UHM gave a distinctive presentation on the Math Adventures that he created and developed as the inquiry based mathematic lesson for students in an elementary school.
The students in MUE gave presentations on the Japanese language education, the English language education in Japan, the special support education and the education of disaster risk reduction.
Three p4cHawaii members came to the seminar for the 1st grade of the pedagogy course in MUE.
We discussed in p4cHI/M style dialogue.
Q.1 If the border between nations had disappeared, what could happen?
Q.2 What do the Hawaiian people think about the Pearl Habor Attack in 7 December 1941?
The later is a serious and political question that MUE students usually do not like to ask. The p4c dialogue stimulates our various interests deep in our hearts.
