53rd PESA Conference 2025

 I participated in and presented at the 53rd PESA Conference, held in Joondalup, a suburb of Perth, Australia, from 7–10 December 2025.

The title of my presentation was:

“Learning Without Meaning?: Phenomenological Reflections on Japanese Achievement Data and the Loss of Purpose in STEM Learning.”

Approximately twenty people attended the session, and we had a rich and engaging discussion during the Q&A.

The host university is currently constructing a new campus in the very heart of Perth’s city center. At the construction site, a large sign reads, “A place of learning like you’ve never imagined.” I felt, in that moment, the deep and quiet strength of Australia’s educational vision.

第17回 ハンナ・アーベント開催 In 東北大学情報科学研究科

 2026（令和8）年2月21日（土）第17回ハンナ・アーベント（東北アーレント研究会）が、開催されました。本会の主催者であった東北大学教授森一郎氏が、3月で東北大学をご退職されるため、今回をもって、ハンナ・アーベント第1期の終了となりました。今後は、東北大学教授澤田哲生氏を中心として第２期の開始予定です。

田端は、「森一郎とアーレント：『いのちのどこが大切なのか』を読む」と題して発表しました。（タイトルをクリックすると当日配布原稿が開きます。）森氏へのオマージュです。
